Kushinda Lure Coursing Entries

The Lion Hounds of Kushinda

ptd. Kushinda I-Motion Nyota Veldt, JC, SC, FCh

Chabonette

ASFA Open - AKC Open

Chabonet moved to Kushinda in WV on Lure Coursing assignment! He began his confirmation career w/Kimma in October 1997 at Upper Potamac Valley (Cumberland, MD) show, where he placed 2nd to his brother Apollo out of the BBE class. Then under DiNardo at St. Clairsville, OH he took Best of Breed & Best Bred By Exhibitor for 2 points! Unfortunately, we were unable to stay for *Best in Show BBE* competition.

In May of this year Chabby-Doo really started strutting his stuff on the coursing field! In his last two outings he has placed 2nd and 3rd to Penachunga & JoJo; and won a tie breaker against Karlo. Then it's back to the confirmation ring later this Fall.

Chabonet is a 4th generation Kushinda Ridgeback!

See more of Chabby-Doo on his personal home page!

Kushinda's Diamond in the Sky

Danika

ASFA Open - AKC JC

Well, this girl is certainly a surprise! Kept as a confirmation dog because she showed no interest in the bag ... until late May of this year when she just happened to be along for the ride, when we had a private Lure Coursing practice in Chambersburg. And, BANG! She was off to a running career. It has taken a lot of hard work to get this bitch ready for action! Including 4 weeks missed due to her season.

If you have ever seen Gwen run, Danika is the next best thing to it! So, we may not have the running experince we'd like to see under this girl's belt for Kentucky, but she is well on her way!

Danika's show pictures are featured on Van Isaac's page - after all he is her father!

Excuse me, but is there a TV on this Field place too? No, I am not posing for this picture ... I was watching TV and they caught me candid!

Gail is Jean-Claude's neice. Yes, that means she is a Spice grandaughter & an Abbie-Gail daughter!

Jean-Paul

ASFA Open - AKC Open

Dis boy was so photogenic, we just had to allot a few extra spaces for his pictures!

Jean-Paul is Jean-Claude's son. That makes him a TikTok grandson!

Jean-Paul (Chabonette's brother) is also a 4th generation Kushinda Ridgeback!

Kushinda's One with the Bag, JC

Jo Jo

ASFA Open - AKC Open

Here we are in training for Kentucky! Yes, getting use to being sprayed down is all part of the Lure Coursing performance event. You'd never know it from this girl, but she'd do just about anything to get to the field.

Golly Gee Wiz! Where did ya get that name? Yes, and we certainly hope she can live up to its meaning! Her first ASAF Trial she went second to Penachunga, and her second Trial she went first.

Jo Jo is Jean-Claude's neice. Yes, that means she is a Spice grandaughter & an Abbie-Gail daughter!

Karlo

ASFA Open - AKC Open

Just in case you missed it, Van Isaac pups are named after Nursery Rhymes. And the LCing hounds, have something to do with a BAG in their name. And, Gail, Jo Jo, and Karlo are sibilings! Oh, and Karlo is at that 18 month stage we have been discussing ... so he may not make it to KY, but he is entered?

All we wanna know is where is brutha Weston? We know he chases bunnies?

FC Kushinda TT King Khou-Dee', JC, SC

Khou-Dee'

We are not sure how to break the news to Khou-Dee' that his personal trainer (& owner) will not be in Kentucky (due to the bad timing of this event) to provide the two-fan cooled rest zone, servant radio to call for room service & and a walk to check out da' girls, wine coolers, and a specially iced-down bucket of fresh water!

Khou-Dee' (Penachinga's brother) finished his AKC Field Championship thsi past June at the AKC Regionals in Hanover. With Khou-Dee's title, this makes TikTok's 13th sired Field Champion (Yuppie (2), Ellie-Mae (2), Gwen (2), Jean-Claude' (2), Theodore (2), Penachunga (2), Khou-Dee' (1))! And we have not even tried Cedar yet?

Khou-Dee' is proudly carrying the name of Kammi's foundation Chinese Shar-Pei, Chou-Dee' (who turns 16 years old this October) and lives with Kammi's sister, Karrie Dee Hefner. Khou-Dee's debue show was at South Hills KC in PA was on June 20 & 21. He is being handled by Karrie.

Khou-Dee' is a 4th generation Kushinda Ridgeback and was shown in the American Bred class in hopes of following in his father's footsteps, Kushinda Rahisi TikTok, Jasri, CD, SC, FCh, CGC/TDI. TikTok took 2nd in the Am Bred class at the 65thRRCUS National Specialty. Khou-Dee' went FIRST at the 67th Specialty!

The Lion Hounds of Kushinda

Kushinda's I-Motion Vogue Kiss, JC

Kissimmee

ASFA Open - AKC Open

Yes, so named we had to go look it up on the Internet! She is simply phenominal .. runs with the style & grace of he father - Jean-Claude'. Unfortunately, she too has been plaqued with female seasonal challenges.

Kiss is Jean-Claude's daughter. That makes her a TikTok grandaughter!

The Lion Hounds of Kushinda

FC Kushinda's TT Lady Penachunga, JC, SC, FCh

Pee-Chee

ASFA Field Champion - AKC Specials

Yeah! Don't I look like a snot! But I already got those dang' titles at both ends of my name! Shows how much stock ya' can put into a puppy picture!

At her first dog show, May 20, 1998 at St. Clairsville, under DiNardo, Penachunga went Winners Bitch from the Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) class, picking up 2 points. St. Clairsville, OH offers Best Bred By Exhibitor completion, which was won by Kushinda I-Motion Nyota Veldt, JC. Chabonet is Penachunga's cousin. Last October, she also took a 4 point major at West Friendship, MD. And she also took the Best Breed by Exhibitor two years running at the Mountaineer Kennel Club. Penachunga is handled by Kammi.

She finished her ASAF Field Championship in only 4 trials!

Penachunga is also a 4th generation Kushinda Ridgeback!

You'd think with all her titles we could get her personal page up?

The Lion Hounds of Kushinda

Kushinda's I-Motion Vogue Tink, JC (& ASFA pre-cert'd)

Tink

Many of you know the story of Tink being attacked by the Akita. It has taken a lot of extra hard work to get Tink back on the Field running. As you know we have held sevarl Private LCing Practices - many especially for Tink. We held special pow-wows to determien the best course of action - run alone with liver bags, run on a course aimed directly at the trees, run on the field she will have to perform on, run with Khou-Dee', run with pulley coaches stationed along the course, etc etc etc. We have really gone the extra yard for this girl!

Hopefully, all our efforts will eventually pay-off! So if you ever see Tink wizz by, you know it's a major accomplishment for Kushinda!

NEVER give up!

Oh, please note the orange blanket! This is a special Kushinda blanket for JCing your hound. It has names & phone numbers stitched into it. The color and id information is in case you get a young hound that takes off. Always thinking ahead! If you ever need to borrow this blanket, please let us know. We JC all our hounds in these blankets.

The Lion Hounds of Kushinda

Ketaru Kushinda Van Isaac I Am, JC, SC

Van Isaac

As with any good breeding program, bringing in outside blood is a necessity to preserve not only good health but to strengthen characteristics. I, Kammi, was doing Roll Call at the 65th RRCUS National Specialty when I noticed a dog with impeccable movement. This dog was bred by Shonnie Beach of Ketaru Kennels. Naturally, we felt a dog from Ketaru would be an asset to the Kushinda Breeding Program. So, while at the ASFA II in 1996, we stopped by Shonnie's and selected a pup out of sire: CH Ridgelea Vartan the Master and dam: CH Ketaru Rodeo Drive.

As many of you can atest - he is everything we had hoped for -- and much much more!
